TEMPO: Technology Enhanced Music Program Online
Our lessons are enhanced by powerful online systems, each designed to enhance the experience of our students and the parents. Each lesson room supports the tools needed for hundreds of custom exercises, video lesson recording, virtual lesson hosting, music notation, file sharing, and practice logging. The TEMPO systems not only amplify the in-person lesson experiences, but encourage and empower the time spent practicing at home. Every TEMPO system is designed to be made available on your personal devices, including tools for parents to help with scheduling and billing. |
Tailored Private Lesson Experience
We pride ourself on our outstanding staff of private lesson instructors. Each teacher has years of experience under their belt in either the professional performance space or in music education. The private lesson experience allows the teachers to coach each student on a personal level, catering to their personal learning styles and goals. All students may need to start with the fundamentals, but our goal is to help every student bloom into their preferred field of expertise as we show them every technique and style each instrument has to offer. Seasonal Group Lessons
Our Group Lessons start at just $28.00 for a 4-week course written and taught by Jay Tamez. Group lessons help provide beginners with a strong introduction into their instrument and allow a student to see if an instrument is a good fit for them. Rental instruments are available for $25 for the 4-week duration of the class. If you'd like to participate in next season's group lessons, click the button below to contacted when the next starting date is set. Rental instruments are available for an additional $25. 
Education Driven Instrument Sales
Our instruments are specifically picked by our teachers, to ensure that the students have the best brands of quality instruments to learn on. All of the Music Academy Staff, including the teachers, are happy to educate students on how to pick out a new instrument. Our lesson rooms are equipped with the same products that are for sale on the sales floor, giving students more opportunity to learn about an item before purchase. 
Rentals for Beginners
Rentals are available for students who would like to test the waters before purchasing an instrument. Rentals are available for keyboards, guitars, bass guitars, violins, and most woodwind and brass instruments. 
Monthly Commitment
We want it to be easy to start lessons and give it a try. No student should have to feel intimidated by a long commitment to something new, but for the students who find their musical calling, we want them to be able to help walk alongside them for as long as possible. The most commitment we ask from a student is one month, but your lesson time is reserved indefinitely. |
Summer Rock and Pop Bands
Each summer, the WBMA registers about 25 middle and high school students to form 4-5 bands. Each of the bands will have at least three opportunities to play gigs such as Summerfest, Music on Main, and the Bend Theater. The students meet weekly to be coached by the Music Academy staff and transform their knowledge of their instrument into knowledge on professional performance. In-House Repair Technicians
Repair work is readily available for current students who run into issues with their instruments, or for students considering lessons if their instrument gets fixed. The Music Academy offers repairs for guitars, bass guitars, ukuleles, violins, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, amplifiers and pro audio gear. 
Largest Music Publisher Access
The WBMA is a direct retailer of Hal Leonard, the largest sheet music publisher in the world. We regularly stock all of the books our teachers recommend and can special order just about any instructional material a student may need. 
Free Guitar Lessons for Veterans
We are partnered with Guitars4Vets, a non-profit whose goal is to provide the therapeutic benefits of guitar lessons to veteran's at no cost. |
